South Africa: 13 Taxis Set On Fire Month After Deadly Shooting In Cape Town

13 minibus taxis were set alight at a rank on Sunday night, January 9, in Nyanga, Cape Town. Four sprinter buses and a civilian vehicle were also destroyed. This comes nearly a month after a deadly shooting at the same rank, and the South African Police Service (SAPS) is investigating the case as arson.

Iceland: Volcano On Reykjanes Peninsula Erupts For 7th Time Since Last December 5

A volcano in southwestern Iceland erupted on Wednesday night, November 20, marking its seventh eruption since last December. The eruption occurred on the Reykjanes Peninsula, sending molten lava flowing toward the Blue Lagoon spa, a major tourist attraction.
